Stunningly beautiful and unique, these drop earrings were bespoke handmade in the Art Deco style and date to around the 1930s era. The diamonds are Round Cuts, superbly shiny, but cut to antique proportions, giving them the term Old Cut Diamonds, which dates them to the late Victorian-Edwardian period. The diamonds are of varying sizes, yet symmetrically balanced as a pair, with a total diamond weight of 4.08ct. The central diamonds are set in a rub-over setting to emphasise the circular shape, and then delicately milled on the edges adding extra sparkle to the metal. The diamonds surrounding the sapphires are pave grain set.

The Sapphires are a deep royal blue colour, facetted and cut to a cushion shape. They do have some natural inclusions and surface scratches, but the 4 stones are wonderfully matched and generously sized with a total weight of 2.98ct.

The earrings are made from precious durable Platinum, which was (and still is) the most sumptuous metal and the metal most in vogue for Art Deco designs. The earrings are in exceptional condition with no damage or defects. I believe the earrings are authentic antiques, however in my opinion they would have originally had a hook/wire fitting. This has been replaced by a more secure and comfortable post and butterfly fitting in recent years and carries a modern hallmark.
